Visitation Route

The visitation route has an extension of approximately 1000m, in which the visitor will be able to closely enjoy with a wide range of animals, which so characterize the best that exists in the Natural Park of Montesinho.

All the fauna that existed here originated in recovery centres, in other parks of the kind and of course, some have already been born in our Biological Park, not meeting the minimum conditions to be returned to nature.

They cohabit in enclosers adequately sized to their needs, always with animal welfare as their main concern. It is important to mention that, mainly, in the enclosures of wild animals, our intervention is as little as possible, thus contributing to make them feel as close to their natural habitat.

With regard to flora, and since this space was once a tree nursery, here you can appreciate an enormous diversity of plants, many of them with a large size, due to their age, but which make up this space so well that it makes it a true paradise in the northeast of Trás-os-Montes.

The Interpretative Centre “Vida de Lobo”, the Mycological Centre and the Interpretative Centre of the Portuguese Autochthonous Breeds are also part of the visitation route.
Once the visit is over, it will certainly leave this space richer, particularly with regard to knowledge about the fauna and flora of the Montesinho Natural Park.
