Capreolus capreolus
White to light yellow rump stain (great individual variation and in the summer it is less evident in the male than in the female), black muzzle and ‘moustache’, white chin. It does not seem to have a tail: a distinctive feature of the female in the winter coat is her anal tuft of white fur that protrudes back between her thighs, looking like a tail. Coat: adults have no spots. The coat ranges from auburn to auburn in summer, greyish to dark brown in winter.
Rugged stems, 3 points, grow in winter; velvet falls in March-June, changes stems in October-January.
